Pill Bugs
Pill bugs are gray, oval-shaped crustaceans measuring up to 3/4 inch long, easily identified by their segmented bodies and ability to roll into a tight ball when disturbed. These moisture-loving pests are commonly found under mulch, stones, and organic debris around foundations, occasionally entering homes through door thresholds and sliding glass doors. Pill bugs feed primarily on decaying plant matter and are generally harmless to humans, though they may damage tender garden plants in large numbers. Control methods focus on reducing moisture around foundations, removing organic debris, and sealing entry points.
